Well this is one of the biggest questions I get from tire kickers that call me up daily. Well I don't blame them everyone wants to know what everything is selling in and around their houses. The Canadian market doesn't make finding this information easy without calling an agent.
As real estate agents we use this opportunity to qualify potential sellers or buyers. It works 10% of the time but most of the time it's just another noisy neighbour.
Well worry no more as soon we might be seeing websites post sales data to the public in Canada. Why is this you ask? Well Toronto Real Estate Board has been fighting to keep this sales data private. As they are the biggest board and want to protect it's brand, realtors and also privacy. Well a judge doesn't agree with them and this may change soon. But don't think TREB will be going away quietly.
